Working with Roundhouse Thinking provided a fantastic opportunity for ASG Group Ltd to obtain the latest training from people who have excelled in their field (not to mention it was part funded). As a small company ASG Group Ltd is growing rapidly and the Managing Director, Bruce Allman fully understands the need to train new and existing team members to ensure we meet the ever increasing demands of our customers.

Roundhouse thinking provided us with a 3 day supervisor’s course, located at the Johnson Building. The process of dealing with Roundhouse Thinking was made very smooth, from the initial meeting at ASG with Jordan Burke through to providing the excellent course. On a personal level Jordan made it very easy for us to organise the bespoke training and was very flexible when it came to arranging dates, times, location etc. Jordan played a large part in dealing with the financial side and making sure that what we needed to teach the supervisors was included in the 3 days. We met a few weeks before and together decided the content to be included in the training; which was then passed to the tutor who based the course around this.

The group chosen for the training was a mix of employees, some who have been supervisors for over 5 years and some just starting out their career as a supervisor. Phil the tutor was very good and he enabled the group to use and discuss real life situations and experiences on some of the tasks set. This really helped the group get into the discussions. The group had commented before the training that they were unsure how it would feel going into the college and would it be like they were back at school. Phil was great as he made the group feel like adults and was flexible with what they required. The group came out of the training feeling positive and enjoyed their experience.

“Since the training I have implemented a lot of the skills and lessons we were taught into my day to day activities. We were taught how to manage difficult people, by acting out scenarios in groups, which has enabled me to resolve problematic situations on the shop floor. We also learned about different thinking styles and team management which I have used to create a better working relationship with the operators and with my colleagues and management. Overall the course not only helped me realise the potential in myself as a supervisor but to also see the potential in others.”
